At Nuss Family Chiropractic

At Nuss Family Chiropractic, P.C., we strive to serve the needs of our patients no matter their age, interests, or expectations.  We use a variety of techniques and can vary the intensity of the adjustment to fit the individual.  We recognize the patient’s role in making informed choices about their healthcare and welcome involvement in decisions about continuing care.  Please schedule a free consultation if you have any questions or concerns prior to beginning care.

Travis N. Nuss, DC

Travis is a native of Waverly and a 1997 graduate of Waverly-Shell Rock schools.  He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Science from the University of Northern Iowa in 2001.  He then studied Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, and graduated with honors in June of 2005.  At that point he returned to Waverly with his family to open Nuss Family Chiropractic.  After 6 months of renovation (see office pictures), his office was finally ready to open in October of 2005.  Travis’s wife, Sara, also a 1997 W-SR graduate is now a kindergarten teacher in the W-SR district at West Cedar Elementary.  The two of them were blessed in June of 2005 with the birth of their first child, Tanner Nuss.  Now that he is back in Waverly, Travis enjoys spending time with his family, playing softball, golfing, and hunting.

Kenneth E. Nuss, DC

Ken Nuss, Travis’s father, is also a Waverly native who graduated from both Waverly-Shell Rock High School and Wartburg College.  He studied Entomology (insects) at Oklahoma State University, where he met his wife, Sherry, and received his Master of Science Degree in 1977.  Ken and Sherry established Cedar Valley Honey Farms and continue to manage honey bees to produce honey for the local market after nearly 30 years.  Ken also taught biology courses at the University of Northern Iowa from 1987 until 2002, completing his Doctor of Education Degree in 1997.  Sherry continues to serve as Biology Academic Advisor at UNI.

Many of Ken’s former students are currently professionals in communities across Iowa and the nation, including Doctors, Dentists, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, Radiologists, Pharmacists, Attorneys, Educators, and others.  He claims this contribution to education as a significant source of pride.  Ken graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in February of 2006, was recognized as a Presidential Scholar, and received the Palmer Clinical Excellence Award for his graduating class.

Both doctors currently accept new patients.  If you have a preference, please indicate your choice when you make your first appointment.  After that time, you are welcome to schedule with either doctor or whoever is available when you need care.
